The same Malkoff Devices heads that we use on the Arisaka 300, 600, 18350 and 18650 Series Lights are now available as stand alone upgrades.

E1HTv2 heads fit the single cell Arisaka 300 series and Surefire M300 Scout bodies.

E2HTv2, E2XTv2 and E2XT heads fit the two cell Arisaka 600 series and Surefire M600 Scout bodies.

HTL, E2XTL and E2XTLv2 heads fit the larger Sufefire DF/DFT, Modlite, and Arisaka 18350 and 18650 bodies.

SIR heads fit both Arisaka 300 and 600 series bodies, plus Surefire M300 and M600 bodies. These are based on the HT housing/optic and replace the previous EXIR and have a better beam pattern under infrared, plus are cheaper/smaller/lighter.

LIR heads fit both Arisaka 18350 and 18650 series bodies, plus Surefire DF/DFT and Modlite 18350/18650 bodies. These are based on the HTL housing/optic and replace the previous EXIR and have a better beam pattern under infrared, plus are cheaper/smaller/lighter.

Recommendations: The new HTL, E2HTv2 and E1HTv2 heads have an exceptional beam profile with a nice hotspot that smoothly transitions to spill. They are a great all-around heads, and also happen to be the smallest, lightest, and least expensive in our lineup. Almost everyone at Arisaka runs the HTL, E2HTv2 or E1HTv2, dependent on the light body and battery sizes we prefer. Check out this blog post for controlled photos of beam patterns and intensity.

As of June 2025 we also have the new E2XTLv2 and E2XTv2, which offers a beam profile similar to the HTL, E2HTv2, and E1HTv2, along with higher output over the previous generation E2XTL and E2XT. These are the best all-around offering from Malkoff at this time. The beam pattern looks similar to the HTL except it has 25,000 more candela with a nice round hotspot and 200 more lumens for additional spill.

  • E2XTLv2 - 55,000 candela and 800 out-the-front lumens. 1.23" diameter bezel. Smooth combo beam with great throw and more spill than the E2XTL. Continuous run time is 30 minutes on two CR123 cells or 90 minutes on one 18650 cell.
  • E2XTv2 - 55,000 candela and 800 out-the-front lumens. 1.23" diameter bezel. Smooth combo beam with great throw and more spill than the E2XT. Continuous run time is 30 minutes on two CR123 cells or 60 minutes on one 16650 cell.
  • HTL - 30,000 candela and 600 out-the-front lumens. 1.1" diameter bezel. Smooth combo beam with throw and spill. Continuous run time is 30 minutes on two CR123 cells or 90 minutes on one 18650 cell.
  • E2XTL - 55,000 candela and 500 out-the-front lumens. 1.23" diameter bezel. Very focused beam for maximum distance. Continuous run time is 30 minutes on two CR123 cells or 90 minutes on one 18650 cell.
  • E2XT - 55,000 candela and 500 out-the-front lumens. 1.23" diameter bezel. Very focused beam for maximum distance. Continuous run time is 30 minutes on two CR123 cells or 60 minutes on one 16650 cell. 
  • E2HTv2 - 30,000 candela and 600 out-the-front lumens. 1" diameter bezel. Smooth combo beam with throw and spill. Continuous run time is 30 minutes on two CR123 cells or 60 minutes on one 16650 cell.
  • E1HTv2 - 18,000 candela and 400 out-the-front lumens. 1" diameter bezel. Smooth combo beam with throw and spill. Continuous run time is 45-60 minutes on one CR123 cell.
  • SIR 250/700 - Based on the HT housing/optic, infrared only, 250mW or 700mW output, 5 degree beam angle. Continuous run time is 4 hours (SIR 250) and 1 hour (SIR 700) on one CR123. Can use one or two CR123 cells, or one 16650 cell. 250mW is similar to MAWL C1+ focused illuminator output with twice the area coverage. 700mW exceeds PEQ-15 high output at equivalent illuminator focus.
  • LIR 250/700 - Based on the HTL housing/optic, infrared only, 250mW or 700mW output, 5 degree beam angle. Continuous run time is 4 hours (LIR 250) and 1 hour (LIR 700) on one CR123. Can use one or two CR123 cells, or one 18350/18650 cell. 250mW is similar to MAWL C1+ focused illuminator output with twice the area coverage. 700mW exceeds PEQ-15 high output at equivalent illuminator focus.

Malkoff Devices heads are fully potted for durability and are designed to handle weapon recoil.

The heads are CNC machined from 6061-T651 aluminum and MIL-A-8625 Type III hard coat anodized. The bead blasted finish matches the Arisaka light bodies and Momentary tailcaps. Made in the USA.
